At first, I was prescribed a dosage of 20 mg for breast cancer prevention. But after a few months after the treatment began, I plunged into a terrible depression because of the drug. In addition, I was tormented by flushes and joint pains. Then, my doctor advised me to lower the dose to 10 mg. My body tolerates lower dosages much better.

Five months ago, I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. Since then, I've been taking Nolvadex, and I'm also undergoing chemotherapy. Now, I'm out of my period, I've lost the desire to have sex, and I have constant back pain. I hope that with time, at least some of these side effects will disappear…

I was prescribed five years of pills after breast surgery. Now, I am 49, and I have taken the medication for the second year. I can share my life hacks to deal with side effects. If possible, be active because the drug promotes weight gain. But if you do exercise, it won't be a problem. No alcohol and greasy food, just a healthy diet. Also, I wear clothes made of natural fabrics, preferably cardigans with T-shirts to put off the top layer in case of hot flashes. I wish everyone a recovery. Stay strong.

I'm surprised when I read about many side effects some people have. I guess I'm lucky because I haven't had any complaints in five years of taking the drug. Except that it was harder to fall asleep.

I already took this medication about a year ago. But the doctor gave it to me again for another 5 years, for breast cancer prevention. This time, it is different. The side effects are much worse, and I doubt I'll be able to finish the treatment
